Over the past several years I have been repeatedly changing the ergonomics on my bikes. Saddle height, tilt, setback, and type (wave, no wave, stub nose, regular nose, width, etc). Handlebar width, tilt, height. Cleat setback, angle. Iā€™m currently set up as I was 50 years ago except for handbag height and width (now higher and wider) and a cut out in the saddle.

I have never had a professional "bike fit." I'm sure that I'm throwing away some power by not optimizing my fit, but I just am not good enough to see much difference. As to comfort, I must not be very particular either. I ride several different bikes I own, as well as some bikes friends have. The one area I notice most, is that in the past 10 years, the angle my head needs to rise to to see far forward, is an issue. I don't like fighting myself to keep looking up. It hurts my neck.

As to seats and angles that they may sit at, I really don't care too much so long as it is slightly downward. I make sure my "sit bones" have an adequate area on which to rest, especially on the back half of the saddle.

Like you Bears, my general position is much as i was in 1968!
