Witches knuckle is near Cumberland Gap.It is around the community of Garmeada.Hwy 74, 3484 and 3485 make up most of it. Hwy 92 is pretty good from Fourmile (North of the Gap) to Monticello.From there take 790 to Somerset and 192 to London. East Burnstadt is a few miles north of London...490 up to 89 and stay on 89 to Irvin. The options back to London are numerous. And you are not far from the Red River Gorge.

If you get near the Gorge....food......try The Redpoint Barbecue. It is off 715 and about a mile of gravel road...but worth it.

Is there any reasonable tent camping in the area. State parks, etc. I like to stay away from RV's, but don't mind at all having fresh water available, and maybe decent toilets.

Tyson, the Levi Jackson State Park is there. A very well equipped facility. A big draw for rv's and primitives. Any questions you have I will do my best to inform ya'll.

Hey Paul, some that I like in that area. +1 on Matt's suggestion about 89, I've done it from Irvine to Mckee. Route 1098 from Quicksand to Softshell, an Elk tourism road. Good pavement with no one on it. There are some wild horses on it so watch out for horseshit but you usually see the horses first. There's an Elk viewing area too but I've never seen any. Does make for a nice stop. Route 28 between 15 and Booneville is great. Most of 11 isn't bad, and you can take that up to Slade and do the Nada tunnel on 77. Route 30 between Jackson and Booneville isn't bad but they're straightening out a lot of 30 but they hadn't done that section the last time I was there. Might I also suggest you try a Shotgun Wedding beer when you're in the area.

There has been a lot of road work in the gorge area over the past 10 yrs. Straightened out a lot of good riding. I will get a few more loops worked up and let ya'll have 'em.

Here's a loop.... pick up 80 in London thru Manchester and on to Big Creek. Take right on 66 to Pineville. This is thru some old mine sights. At Pineville you have a choice. Left on 25E to 190 and can do Witches Knuckle (3484 and 3485). Or go right on 25E to Fourmile and take 92 left to Williamsburg and on to Stearns. Take 92 over to Monticello and then do the 776
/790 to Bronston/Somerset. Then 192 back to London.

Take 80 to 472 thru Fogertown to Burning Springs and 421. Take left here to Bradshaw and go right on 587 to Beattyville. Right on 52 to St.Helens and 2016. Left on 2016 ( Big Andy Ridge) to 715 take right to Pine Ridge. If you take left off 2016 to 715 you can go to Redpoint BBQ. At 15 go left 500 ft then right on 715 thru the Gorge. Go left in Gorge on 77 to Nada. From here go right on 15 to Stanton. Then left on 213 over Furnace Mtn. to Irvine. Go right on 52 thru town across river then left on 89 to Mckee. Here go right a few hundred ft to left on 89 to Lamero then left on 490 to London.
