Along the Nullabor. Heading home after the 2009 MotoGP. Probably around Yalata, I reckon, as it was pitch black by the time we made it to Nullabor Roadhouse.

Great pic FR4N !
But not sure I would want to ride the Nullarbor at that time of the day , think I've seen too many dead roos on the side of the road ...

Thanks both of you. Yeah, Martin. Not the best of decisions but we had aimed for Nullabor as it would be a good run home from there. Those last kilometres were at a crawl with eyeballs on stalks. But we got there. I ended up not being able to sleep so went for a walk along the highway at 3am to soak in the solitude. The nothingness of it really is something special.

Waiting to board the ferry at Skagway Alaska.
After riding up and sleeping on the ground most nights for a month or more it felt good to relax in poofy seats on the ferry.
We spent two nights at Juneau and two nights at Petersburg Alaska before hitting the road again at Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

Good observation Pete! I remember Zap Comix... R. Crumb & his character, Mr. Natural & his Keep On Truckin' strip. Two of my favorite 60's poster artists did some of the artwork for the comic too, Rick Griffin & Victor Moscoso.. And who could forget the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers?
If interested, take a trip back in time for some interesting history. The Complete Zap Comix at http://www.tcj.com/reviews/the-complete-zap-comix/

Beech, You are a Wild Man! Nice Ink. I think if you can remember those years, you really weren't there, so I don't have a chance. I just spent some time searching the interwebs and can't find the issue. Is it a R.Crumb?
Going down memory lane with Mr. Natural and the cast was fun.
As for gasoline, that's how it's done everywhere in the countryside. Cambodia is really poor. Were you there?

Yes, Zap #2, 1968. But going to my file cabinet, I've been ripped off. Or otherwise just cant find it. Yes, some serious party days. No, I have not been past Japan. Went to high school in southern Japan in the early 60's. Learned to drive on the left. Spent most every summer weekend in the country side on my bike. Very liberal parents. Possibly they were just okay if I was gone, I always turned up later.
