1998. We took the R1100RSL down 5 miles of forest road to see the Shoshone National Forest fire tower. There was a sign back on Beartooth Highway that said "Visitor's Welcome". Cool side trip.

Matt, the older boxers had the centerstand located so that without luggage the bike was balanced. if you removed the front wheel it would settle on the back. If you removed the rear wheel it would settle on the front. Great for roadside tire repairs I guess. Strange, we never quite got into that bike either but no one can say we haven't tried. .
