    Down To The Beach

I had to get out of the house so I took my drone to the Forgotten Coast. It's a little over an hour ride if you take the direct route. Weather - 82 F - 27.7 C. Sunny with blue skies.

I still have a lot to learn about Drone flying

I took the back way to Sopchoppy and then Smith Creek Road through the Apalachicola Forest. Only saw one car. Needless to say, it was an exhilarating high speed run. I need more!

I'm conflicted. I would like to ride more but my kids want me to stay at the house. The only interaction I have with anything is a gas pump and in these times (Corona Virus) I am highly aware of everything I touch. The state of Florida might make that decision for me.
      You stay safe too.

I charged up the drone's batteries, but it's too windy here today to fly.
Did you get the same model drone to replace the tree huger one?

Yep, but only the drone & controller. First time I bought the "Fly More Combo Pack".
The wind was kind of strong so I did not fly as high as I had wanted.

Pete, download the app UAV Forecast. You fire it up where you are and want to fly, it will give you a go/no go and also all current conditions.
Pay particular attention to the "KP" as it reflects the magnetic interference at that point. Also you get winds aloft by the 100s of feet up.

This is the time when the "Flatistan" comments just roll off ones back. And it's not even flat in the Tally area.

I thought so too Pete , that was in 2008 , so I'm guessing it's in Georgia close to the Florida border .

Marteen, you must have headed to the coast after visiting me. Those trucks are on USA 319 just north of Crawfordville, Florida.

Thanks for sharing Pete. Flat in Florida aye? Same here in most of Illinois except for the Southern Tip and the Northwest Corner.

There's a hill in FL, I was there a few times years ago. Or maybe it was a highway overpass?

Well, yes. In the panhandle of Florida, you find rolling hills (Northern Florida Highlands). In the north-central part of Florida also (Brooksville Ridge). South Florida is pretty flat. Although there is a geological feature called the Lake Wales Ridge which is an ancient dune where the oceans used to be that is 300 feet above sea level. So there ya have it.
