Assuming you are referring to Massey Fergusons not the MFers here?

Cool! What was the purpose of the two front tractor wheels angled in at the bottom? (see pic 4)
        -- to steer easier
-- to expel mud and rocks easier
-- to be able to go down a narrow furrow
All the above are real "guesses" on real tractor forums. I wonder how many miles they get out of them?

To break your thumbs if you had them inside the steering wheel and hit
          something just right.
Actually I'm not sure what the narrow front end was for, maybe easier to
put cultivators and other accessories on. They were called row crop front
          ends, they did turn sharp.
We had a Farmall H like that. It scared the heck out of me many times and
I was probably only ten years old when you shouldn't know any better. Had
little or no brakes and shifted hard.

Even if they didn’t, they’re cheap and you can easily afford more.

Debbie thought the wheels are angled in to fit the furrow.
She mention they are not on a solid axle and each wheel can move up and down independent of each other.
Like Mike said she's guessing the narrow front ends on early tractor were for ease of attaching cultivators, pickers and other front mounted equipment.
With a narrow front you don't have to worry about fitting row spacing. Rear wheels can normally move in or out to fit row spacing.
The John Deere 530 her Dad bought in 1960 still had a narrow front. She said that tractor seemed modern because it had electric start and power steering.
The used John Deere 720 Diesel her Dad bought in the early 70s still used a gas starter motor to turn over the diesel.

Debbie said she was small enough in grade school it was difficult to steer their John Deere B. The B was one of the 2 cylinder Johnny Pops. If she hit a clod the steering wheel would jerk enough to almost throw her off the tractor.

It's a annual event. Tractor Rally
They usually leave town in groups put together by road speed ratings.
This year there were two groups.
The faster group leaves town first. This lets the first group make the lunch stop, eat and leave, before the slow group arrives.
The John Deere implement dealer in Winterset put on the lunch for the riders.

Here's a drone shot of the tractors waiting to leave Creston last year.
