Got back from the oncologist. yesterday. Went from no hope to hope. Need some more testing. Depends on the type of cancer but might be able to add a few years of quality life. He came up with a treatment plan that has little side effects and we can get that done locally. We will see.

Thanks Doc. That means a lot. Today we had a video conference with the oncologist. She could have six month without any treatment or a year with treatment with some side effects. She is handling it well. I am tired all the time, and don't sleep well. I take care of some of her medical issues. She gets an IV infusion for ten hour at night. We have nurses come three times a week to take care of other issues. By the way we did our honeymoon for three weeks on the east coast (Queensland) of Australia got our scuba diving certificate on the great barrier reef. That was 88, even went to the World's Fair in Brisbane.

Rivefurm, thank you for sharing this very sad story with your friends on this forum. We all enjoy some hooliganism, but a sobering story like yours is good for us. You have my most sincere condolences. I pray that this year has more good times than bad for you and your traveling partner.

Thanks. Yes one day everything is fine. The next they are not. Nancy is still getting around fine but not going far, She can make it around our neighborhood. But I can see the cancer is taking a toll physically and mentally. Trying to enjoy the time we have left.

Nancy is closer to her final journey. She has been in pain for a few weeks. Upped her pain meds. She is going on hospice. I am going to the funeral home to set up her wishes. No Funeral we are going to do a celebration of life at a latter date.
She told me I will feel relief after she goes and that's not a bad thing. The relief I feel is she will no longer be in pain.
Danny stopped by to see her. He was a neighborhood kid that used to hang out in my garage when he was about six. He never had a good home life. He was like a son to us. He moved to Montana two years ago. He hung out all day. He told me to move to Montana so he could take care of me, He made my cry.
I do not know what I am going to do. I think I should give it a year before I make any changes.

Nancy left me for her final journey today Nov.9 at 5;37pm. With me and her best friend by her bedside. Just as I predicted it was a horrible death with a lot of suffering. So i am grateful we had some time together and she is on her way. I will miss her very much. This is a new beginning to my life. . .

Obit for Nancy
Nancy Beth Resnick Hendrickson was born on May 9th, 1957 and passed on in
her 67th year on November 9th, 2024. She is survived by her devoted, gentle and
loving husband, Furman Hendrickson, her mother, Rita Resnick, her sister Marcia
Montanya, brother Howard Resnick, nephew, Aaron Resnick, niece Renee Resnick,
her mother-in-law, Patricia Hendrickson, sister-in-law, Vicki Hendrickson-Daye,
brother-in-law, Gilbert Daye, her dog, MaraBella, along with cousins and her many
loving friends and neighbors.
Nancy lived a charmed and radiant life along the alluring Delaware River for
36 years where she spent her days creating a beautiful home for she and Furman
and their dogs, Casper and MaraBella. She had a deep relationship with nature and
designed beautiful gardens that surround the outside of their home. Together
they would spend their summer days boating on the river and floating with the
tides along with friends, family, dogs and a good book.
Nancy’s career spanned decades as a school Psychologist for the
Lawrenceville School District in Lawrenceville, NJ where she tirelessly advocated
for the well-being of the students she lovingly counseled and supported, as well as,
initiated, launched and ushered in the Holocaust Education Program for the
enrichment and benefit of the district and the lives of the students that attended
school there.
From the moment someone put a Kodak camera into her hands when she was
just a young child, Nancy was an avid photographer. She was a well-known and
sought out photographer of the local scenery and wildlife where she and Furman
lived along with photographing the world as together the two of them spent their
years traveling the globe on motorcycle excursions and journeys through many,
many countries cultivating a rich love and knowledge of the many cultures they
immersed themselves in.
It is hard to say goodbye to someone as colorful and vibrant as Nancy
because she touched so many lives, but she will be remembered by her family and
many friends across this continent and the continents of this world. Nancy made a
vivid impression on all those who loved her. She was wild, fun, compassionate,
outspoken, and held a strong conviction and empathy for what she believed in
deeply and compassionately. And, as we do say goodbye to our beautiful, silver-
haired goddess, we will raise our glass of Cosmo’s and toast to a spirit that will live
on in all that knew her through the rivers of our own fond memories, good times,
laughter and love with Nancy.
To honor the life of Nancy Resnick-Hendrickson, there will be a Celebration
of Life...no dates or times have been determined at this time.
