    More 2019 Kentucky Pictures

Even with the heat we had a good time and it was fun to see everyone.
We were guessing it would be hot and humid so we planned short days on mostly non interstate roads.
About 700 miles in 2 days on the way down and a little over 900 miles in 3 day for the return trip.
SE Missouri has fun roads we like.
Ice cream breaks each day helped to cool us off.

A dip in the pool each day also helped.

We like the rock walls with angled cap rocks in this part of Kentucky.

Saturday we spent several hours at the Shaker Village.

Men and woman used separate sections of each building. Each building had separate doors and stairs, one for men, one for women.

Even the building with spiral staircases had one on each side.

The non profit organization is still restoring buildings.

You can spend the night in some of the buildings.
I'm guessing if you have sex the shaker ghosts will haunt you.

Sunday morning we headed south before working back north west.
First we stopped at Lincoln's boyhood home site, then his birthplace.

This is the location of his boyhood home. Logs from a neighbor cabin were used to recreate this cabin.

Here's the Memorial at the birthplace site.

A replica of his cabin is inside.
They thought they had logs from Lincoln's cabin but in later years testing proved the logs were too new to come from his cabin.

In Iowa we sat at a highway intersection and watched a crop duster make several passes.
A car pulled up behind us and we had to pull out. I thought we would be ok but the wind drift caught us.
We had to pull over to the shoulder to clean off our faceshields.

What BMW model is this? Looks like a plugin car.
It must not have any parking aids

Joe couldn't be more wrong, we all know that Debbie wears the pants... and Lee wears whatever Debbie tells him to.
