    Key Fob Battery Life

After four years my battery was dead.
I'd never given it a thought.....
    Do you replace your's regularly?

Mine"s only 1,5 years old and still going ...
Does your bike have the sensor under the rear fender , so you can start using the plastic key ?

Yes, I was able to use that once I figured out what the problem was.
The red light on the dash was flashing meaning it was searching for
      the fob.

The first of each year I change the fob batteries for our bikes, batteries in our wireless heated gear controllers and the batteries in our bicycle computers.

      Lee,
There’s batteries in the key fob for the K1300S?

Avoid those cheapy-cheap Amazon sourced batteries from China, They last about as long as ... well, not very long. I use Duracells and they're good for at least a couple of years.

I have an extra fob battery in the inside pocket of both of my riding jackets.

10 years for the car, 4 years for the Jeep. I guess I'll change them when they stop working.

Wes, try and avoid Duracell brand in stuff like remotes. They leak and the company admits to it. Go energizer.

Trust but verify -- Google confirms the issue. Thanks for the heads-up Mani.

A year or two ago someone told me the same and I didn't believe him because I had mostly used Duracell without any problems.
Last year I had a couple dozen of them leak. Some of them were leaking in the new package.
These were bought at stores, not Amazon or ebay.
          No more Duracell for me.
