Just back from the 2023 BRPR, just a little rain lot's of twisty roads & no issues. Very impressive tires.
Here's what they look like with 3,300 miles.
There is a new one from Dunlop called the Trailmax Raid which is more of a 50/50 tire than the Missions. Available only in the Euro market for now.
You know Dunlop is owned by Goodyear and is the only tire manufactured in the USA. Thats right, in NY.
These TMM tires are farking magical. They hook up well on a thousand miles of gravel road after putting over 5,000 miles on them and they look like they're going to get me back home that will be 11,000 miles on them. I've never gotten half that mileage out of any 50/50 tire.
UPDATE: After 6500 miles the Missions have 9mm tread left. They do NOT like hot tar snakes, but then, neither do I.
UPDATE # 2: Total miles 8600, tread left is 9/32 for front and rear. They started life at 13/32 R and 11/32 F.
As a mileage tire they are excellent. I think a true sport-touring tire would be slightly better on road but we've never gone over 5500 miles on Michelin Road 4 or over 6500 miles on Dunlop Roadsmart 4. The Dunlop Trailmax Missions allow us to take a cross country trip without having to plan a tire stop along the way. And the GS "needs" a tire that can do a gravel road if one so desires.
The new bike has Anakee Adventure tires on it and I have less than 100 miles on them but boy! are they noisy (compared to the Missions). I'm seriously considering re-shoeing the bike with the Missions at the 600 mile service.
