    Classic bike anyone?

I have been looking for this bike...I had the same one brand new when I was 18 and unfortunately I had to sell it not too long after buying it because I needed a reliable car for a new job. I loved that bike.
I had taken an ad out on Craigslist in Vancouver looking for one...last weekend a a guy sent me a link to one for sale in Washington...I called the guy and bought it over the phone....

The details that I know so far..

    He is the original owner
    Just under 17,000 miles
    All stock including original exhaust
    Apparently it runs like new.

I have hired a custom broker to do the paperwork for the border and I'll go get it this week. Can't wait!!!

So I got my 83 GS750ED home yesterday.
I went to Washington to pick up the bike Tuesday leaving on the 6am ferry from Victoria.

Sensible seats were standard back in the day. I NEVER fell off or lost a passenger. Comfy with room to move around for both pilot and pillion. This bike is a fine example of the best of the UJM's. Congratulations Trevor, for finding and acquiring it.

Well, back in the day they had that strap across the seat.
Was the passenger supposed to hang onto that?

Those "passenger straps" were the most ridiculous bit of equipment ever. I don't know of a single passenger who ever used one!

Looks like new on the outside.

I'll bet the insides will shortly be like new in your hands....

I plan to do the valve seals as it's been sitting and like to smoke on start up. Also installing a period correct Yosh I got of another gs750 i bought a couple weeks ago...just for the pipe...lol...I sandblasted and painted it up in my make shift paint booth...

              Have you tried powder coating?

You can't powder coat for heat as far as I know...I have done ceramic coating on a kerker I have on my Cooley...But I have had pretty good luck doing it myself with VHT header paint...got out today yo "cure" it...
