Actually, come to think of it, I have ridden one albeit a short one. I got a S1000SX (I think the HP) as a loaner for my 170k service. It was a 2016 I think, and was around $15k from memory. Bit viby through the bars but I'm sure that could be fixed. And not being a screen fan, I'm sure I can get the hacksaw at it. Yeah, I remember being very impressed with the bike

    I'll shortlist it, Mani

I have an 18 and I think they fixed it. It does not vibrate, at least anymore than any other bike I owned.

March is generally when new models are released in Oz. A fair few being released this year which is making things hard for me - LOL

For communting and weekend knockabout rides I suggest you look at the Yamaha XRS 900.

LIght weight, good handling, and plenty of pep.

Hey Fran If you enjoyed the power of the k13 you need to get it's equal at least. My riding buddy sold his one - same colour as yours - and bought a 2018 r1200r. He really likes the bike but said that he does miss the awesome power of the '13. As for chains I'm with Martin. I'd go the red k13. The green always reminded me of a urine sample - not mine tho'

I , personnally , prefer the acid green by far , but hey that's me ... And that red bike , not 100% sure but I think it's Drake's bike , a bloke who was at the rally in 2018 , and the only one who got a performance award at the rally (Mark and me were lucky that day ...) . But if that's him , then I don't think that bike was abused .

I liked the acid green S1000RR. We never got the K1300R in the US, which was a shame.

Hi Fran, hope your healing up well as I type this note.

Some years ago I had a Yamaha FJ1200...loved it but finally had a desire for something completely different. Sold the FJ1200 to a Friend and bought a new '94 BMW R100 GS/PD. Had a great time on the Airhead GS for 81k miles. Have you seen the new Moto Guzzi V85 TT...it's getting rave reviews:

Fun commuter bike, have you looked at the variants of the R9T? Shaft drive, cool looking, tons of bing and accessory stuff for it, and while not remotely in the same class as your K1300R, still a lot of fun. I've had them for loaners a few times and enjoyed them. For more performance, the R1200R is also pretty nice.

Another vote for the R1200R with a BMW Sport shield.
The R front end is slightly different than the RS and quicker steering.

No, I haven't bought anything just yet. I received a healthy 5 figure deposit from my insurer so I'm ready to go.

There are two 2020 bikes coming out in March which really have me interested:

The first is this beauty: The 2020 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I've got my name down for a demo ride as soon as it lands. Love it in the green.
