I think he quit riding when he became a parent.

I think I remember him having some eye problems as well. As much as I disagreed with him at the end of I-BMW I still would like to have met him.

Hornet nest alert -- but .... the K1300S is still quicker from 40-70 than most current sport bikes. I love the rheostat feeling throttle. And it still looks good. No, it looks great! Plus it is a great two-up sport tourer!

Are you kidding, a great bike. Not many can match it. I have two of them now. Picked up a 2011 last year to be the lead bike since my original is a little worn. There are some big Asian touring bikes out there again, I think things are cycling back. The coming R1300 series is trying but the K13S is the leader of the pack.

It seems manufacturers are doing some of their liter bikes as sport tourers and they look great. But they all have chains. I love the shaft drive. I see my K13 as a Swiss army knife, does a lot of things well.

Of course, K1300S's are still relevant. Hayabusas don't come in ORANGE, Jargon!!

Did they ever make one with cruise control?
I loved the looks of HP and some others.

No cruise because the throttle is cable operated and there is no room for the cruise servo motor that would be required. Both of our GS's had cruise and I never used it.

I use mine often to rest my wrist. My '96 K1100RS killed it.

I do likewise with my Triumph Mike. Sometimes if you're just cruising along on a road it's nice to be able to set.

To me "cruise control" is not having conversations with guys or gals in uniform in custom painted vehicles.

I hope you live long enough to be considered an "older guy."

260 KG? What's that in America! LOL! That's about 570 lbs. I'm surprised that it is so close to the K1300S.
