Victory, I used to use two of the Garmin Elite cameras in my M/c and airplane for the longest time, then bought a Garmin Virb360 and still have it. It soon became too complicated and finally sprung for the Hero 9 Black which I use on a 3D printed chin mount on my Schuberth helmet. Great POV and I can crack the visor and ask it to start or stop recording. Very light weight.
The part I like most with the Hero 9, when I am done and home, plug it in for charging and it automatically uploads to the GP account without even touching a button via Wifi..
All vids are saved online for post editing or whatever.

Mani, I had the GP7 and loved every thing about, used it right out of the box and really liked the colors it produced. The GP8 is also right out of the box with zero problems beautiful videos... GP9 haven't been using it much, will give it a test ride to Texas in April.
I'll try and post a videos or two when I get back from Texas rally... GP9 is still new to me only used it 2 or 3 times.

    Victory,

I had/have been running a Sena 10C unit, but I also just sprung for a GoPro 9 Black a few weeks ago, having last owned a Hero 3 Black. There are not even words to describe the difference that has happened between the 3 (circa 2012 IIRC) and the 9, WORLDS apart.

I have a question for you, have you ever had that suction cup mount fall off? I bought one, used it once on the bike so far, but I didn't trust it for anything, so I have zip ties as backup. Just curious your experience with it, do you have significant successful use with it?

Hey Matt, I've been using the Ram mount suction cup. Works fantastic I've had it on the side panel for over a week and never had a problem with it. You do have to make sure the service is clean when mounding it, other than that it's one tuff SOB.

Have you guys figured out how to solve the problem with GoPros that every time you really want the video its battery is dead or the memory card is full? They shoot great video when the stars all align but I just can't bring myself to spend that much time on a ride worrying about GoPro batteries and swapping memory cards.

My only guess would be your settings. A battery fully charged should last about 11/2 to 2hrs providing if its been in low temperatures or your camera settings. Higher quality settings in resolution like 2.7 will use up more battery. At 1080- 60 you should be seeing about 1 1/2hrs at least when fully charged.
GoPro's do have a few bugs and batteries are one of them. That's why I have 3 with at all times.
Also I mount 3 cameras on the bike and one on the helmet but that's just me being me. And memory card I only use SanDisk Extreme Minimum 128GB. Hope this helps a little

I get about half a day's ride on one battery on the GP9. I dont shoot continuously, but in short intervals.
It is painful to watch long vids of my own rides, let alone post em for others to view.
For the most part I forget I have a camera. I have 3 batts as well.

I'm with you on this one Mani. At times I forget about the camera being on, but then I realized it was a good thing at times. I've mounted a chin mount and mic for a little vlogging on where I've been, i keep forgetting the places and roads I've been on. I'll see how my vlogging goes. it'll be my first time listening to my voice but then again at least I'll know where I've been.

I have a second device on my helmet at all times. The Sena 10C EVO. I can record on it and talk to it to record my voice. Music,, intercom, bike to bike coms, video and voice recording all in one.
Much more convenient than setting up coms for the GP.

Truth. I'm trying to edit video from our Colorado adventures last year. There's so much good stuff, that it's hard to choose what to keep, and what to toss. That said, I have no delusions that anybody wants to watch an hour long video of us each day. I'll probably keep the long edits so that I have them for the future, and then somehow try to get it down to 10 minutes per day.

I was going to suggest the same as Mani just mentioned. Victory, if you are looking for something with your voiceovers in the video, the Sena 10C works splendid for that. Last year before the Colorado trip I was debating between the Sena 10C and the GP8. I'm really happy that I bought the Sena 10C even though I now bought the GP9 anyway.

One thing that I will say about the Sena 10C that to me is a failure, is when using the earbud adapter. In the dirt portion of our Colorado trip, I was able to capture the "chatter" of Bill, Joe and I on the Sena into the video which makes for a more fun/interactive experience of what is going on.

During the street portion, I moved the Sena onto my street helmet (which is simple), but instead of using the included helmet speakers, I chose instead to use my custom earplugs with speakers. Seems like Sena was short sighted in how they capture the intercom audio using the audio adapter, and for the intercom audio captured on those rides, it's a bit awkward because they captured MY intercom audio, but not the incoming audio. It's as if the adapter to allow for the custom plugs somehow bypasses the ability for the unit to receive/record the audio into the video. Watching those videos, it sounds like I'm having some bizarre conversation with myself. For vlogging, this would be a non-issue however, it's only the intercom audio while using the audio adapter.
