    Teslas are killing motorcyclists?

Fortnine has turned his analytical mind to a couple of accidents where motorcyclists were killed by being hit from behind by Teslas:

Interesting Wes. I never thought about the difference between and overturned truck and an overpass to AI. Also more features allow folks to not pay attention thinking the car will save them.

The new X5 we bought has a couple of safety features for its autonomous driving. I requires you to keep your hands on the wheel and it has a driver camera that watches your eyes to make sure you're paying attention to the road ahead. I've tested it and it starts with a warning flashing red lights on the steering wheel and display before it turns off forcing you to get engaged in the drive. One day I was bopping my head around to the music and the car thought I was nodding off and starting trying to wake me up by turning up the AC and the music These cars are getting pretty creepy if you ask me. I can say "Hey BMW, I'm feeling tired." The car will open the sun roof, turn up the AC, set the stereo to a rock station and change the interior lighting to red accents. I can then tell it that I'l awake and it'll reverse all that.

Scary stuff about getting rear ended by a Tesla. I think most cars use radar for avoiding that but apparently not Teslas.

I wonder weather a large, reflective, 3D hologram on the back of the bike might increase AI visual awareness?

Maybe those reflectors on the panniers are more effectively seen by Teslas? For some reason I'm having flash backs to the Stephen King story "Christine"

He goes into a brief description of seeing lights on the back of a motorcycle, low and appearing to be a car in the distance. I think this is one of the big reasons why drivers pull out in front of motorcycles as well. They see a single light and their brain falls into the automatic decision-making process that it is a car but far in the distance, giving them the sense that they can pull out and blam-o, motorcycle t-bone. Three lights in the front help with this but is not foolproof.

Kind of on a tangent, but read up on the illusory truth effect. While used mostly in the world of misinformation, it explains that a typical human makes 35k decisions a day and to help ease that burden takes shortcuts when deciding on issues that it has already seen. Hence, motorcycle is actually a car in the distance.

Another good point. Anyone know how we can get a hold of Elon?
