      "Restart NOW"

Restart Now is a web site that extrapolates the effects of re-opening versus shut down.

Compares Covid deaths as opposed to suicides.

Information on a number of states is available at https://restartnow.io/

Note that death rate is decreasing faster that new case rate.

A reasonable speculation would be that as the state "opens up," there will be more infections. However, the death rate among those getting out and around will be lower than the original reported cases. Presumably, the "getting out and around" population excludes nursing home residents and those with serious underlying illnesses. Also, those persons with slight symptoms will now recognize the cause and get tested, Adding these persons into the data base, will significantly reduce the death rate of the disease. This is just speculation, but the proof will be in the pudding..

BTW, thanks for posting this stuff, Wild Bears. I have followed this thread with interest.

            All good points.

There may also be more effective therapies being used contributing to the decreased death rate.

Trending favorably. It's a good thing Florida Governor DeSantis didn't adopt NY Governor Cuomo's nursing home policies.

DeSantis did just the opposite of Cuomo.

To be fair, this was new to most of us and there was not a lot of experience to rely on.

Vermont not open for business = one new case.
New Hampshire opened some businesses and restaurants last week = 100 new cases.
Northern NY = Zero new cases.
