Did not see the motorcycle. Lights?

So in the last week we had 3 deaths in Chattanooga where motorcyclist while in his lane were smashed upon by SUV types who were making a left into a shopping place or food joint. In broad daylight.
All three drivers claim they never saw the motorcycle. One was very close to my house and saw it on my way to work.
So I think I have to re visit the add more lights theory. But if they are distracted and are busy with their phone, does it help?
The GSA is a big bike and am more concerned about the XR.

I think extra lights help, but will never help in the case of a distracted driver. I would bet these people were preoccupied with phones, GPS, or other distraction within the vehicle. It definitely sucks.

Oh, and if I can avoid traffic I do so.

I do notice the yellow lights more when I am driving.
Dont know if loud horns will help. Some of these F'ers dont even hear the EMS/Police sirens.

Yellow lights are illegal over here.

I've eyeball to eyeball drivers and they have pulled right out in front of me. Some "see" but don't see, IYKWIM. Scarier, I've even been rear-ended (on a BMW loan bike while mine was in getting the switchgear issue fixed). H...T...F... can you not miss someone that looks like a 100+kg brick complete with jacket reflective bits, holding the brake, stopped at lights. Yeah, some "see" but don't see.

Going through the dark part of the tunnel when cars lights come on automatically, traffic jams or any time after dusk, I flip on high beam (also illegal). Something is better than nothing.

This reminds me, I really ought to install a camera. Won't help after the event but.

I can make my K13R (with Akra) pop and spit flames. That gets them to back off if they're behind. Doing it while passing an open car window is fun, too. teehee

Cant avoid traffic or congested streets when riding to work, or taking a break to grab a quick lunch. You will be in the midst of everyone else who has the same idea.

I think aux lights help a lot but I stopped riding to work decades ago. Everyone's too interested in their Starbuck's or phone at that time of day.
