Any known issues with BMW's Shiftcam engine?

Might be looking at an R1250RS in the near future.

I've already seen this thread: https://theriderspace.com/forum/ridi.../22456-r1250rs

    So any other issues???

There has been a few cases of bad cams in the R1200 and R1250, but not many.
Here's a RS forum you can check out.. https://www.r1200rsforum.com/

My biggest problem isn't a problem per se but it just bugs me. The 1250 shift cam is 84cc larger than the 1200 but only has 11 more hp. I would have expected more power for the added displacement and complexity. Plus the 1250 is heavier. My 2 cents, with a mechanical engineering background, is that the shift cam is for Euro 5 emissions more than anything else. If there are any design issues they would be showing up by now so I'd trust it in that regard.
