I came across this post that I'd copied off of the old site, maybe even the archives:
Hey... just got back from the BRPR a couple hours ago. It was tons of fun!! My dad and I are really glad that we went. A lot of people know us now, i guess. Probably because I'm the only kid there. But we met a lot of new people because they had all heard about us and talked to us. The people at these are great. I love it. So the rally was at peaks of otters. Tons better than last years at afton. It was a little sketchy last year (but still fun). This place was really pretty. It was a great spot on teh parkway. On the clearer days you could look around and your jaw would just drop. We rode a lot of roads this weekend. Mostly around Marlinton, WV. From there, just about any road you take is great - through the woods and some good turns. We rode with a lot of different groups, too. We went with some faster ones and some slower ones. Nobody got hurt this time year, but there were 2 crashes. Vick crashed on a turn on 311 because he hit some gravel. The crash wasn't too bad though. He scratched up teh paint a bit but thats just about it. He complained about his collarbone a bit, but I think its just a few muscles that were just scratched, but I guess we'll have to wait to hear from Vick on that one. A guy named Randy crashed too. We were right behind him so we saw him go down. It wasnt a bad crash either. Just pride and paint. He just came up a little tight on the guy in front of him and put on the front brakes (shouldn't do that) and he went off into the gravel. He would have made it without the bike going down but unfortunately he went over a few bumps of gravel that threw him off. He ended up in someones front yard but he just hopped right back up. Bumps and bruises, a few bent parts and some paint. Thats all. On the way down, we took skyline and parkway. On skyline we met up with a guy named charles. He was from Quebec and pretty interesting so we stuck with him. Unfortunaltely for him, he was hanging out with the most wanted people on the road. Us. We had been stuck behind a line of cars so we decided to slide on by on a double yellow and the truck in the front of the line was a park ranger. oops! we were going by and we saw a hand come out the window. He wagged his finger on us and my dad put his head down and then continued riding, knowing he wouldnt catch us. Then we pulled over with Charles and a ranger ahead of us pulls over and backs up next to us. By that time we are of the bike and he gets out of his car and talks to us for a little bit. We asked him where a good place was for food and he said a little bit up the road and we were kinda making small talk when he asked if we were in a hurry. my dad said "only for a cheeseburger, y?" and the ranger said that someone had reported a bike that looked just like ours with two people on it. Apparently the ranger we passed had radioed us. haha. He lectured us for a bit and told us that all of the rangers along skyline would be watching for us so we ate and had to go a little slower. That made it a little less fun but we got along all right. The trip was fun and there are plenty of stories that im sure will be posted within the next week. If you went, you know how much fun it was, and if you didnt, try to make it next year!! Its worth the trip, for sure! I cant wait for Deals Gap later this year, and hopefully my dad and i will hook up with some of our new friends! Can't wait to read other's stories!
