The Gingerbread House Thread

In the early eighties I was married and a stay at home house husband. Wife went to work and I cooked, cleaned and took care of our three girls. This is the part where the wife would say "we have switched roles"... NOT! As I would point out, if we had switched roles why I'm I still mowing the lawn, fixing the exterior and doing general yard maintenance also? Shouldn't that be your job? NOT.
Wouldn't trade it for the world. I have a great relationship with my girls and I'm glad I was there in their early years.
I started making a gingerbread house for Christmas and the kids loved it. It's been several years but I attempted another one for my grandson.

This is from 1984 with my youngest on my back. It's a California Ranch with a Deck, Swimming Pool and Carport

Pete, I get that you had a template for the house but did you do the decorating design yourself?

I designed and made the template out of a case of Miller Lite. I originally was making a much larger house. The amount of gingerbread I needed was getting excessive so took out the scissors and cut down the template. It all came out of my warped head.
