    Spring fever

I never caved in but with the cottage...now thinking of getting a sled

    https://www.ski-doo.com/community/on...at-spring.html

I want to be able to do some work with it so leaning towards an expedition tempted by the 850 2 stroke engin but worried about reliability perhaps the 4 stroke ace 900 turbo or not is a safer bet?

    Any sled owners here, recomendations?

And yes it will have heated everything, obviously!

You're not going to do any work with it, that's why you have the side by side. Go for the gusto
and grab a four stroke turbo..... Get two though, one for a friend !

Loved the Yamaha RX1 I had but we just don't have the snow anymore.
Up there if you don't have a sled that'll a 100 MPI, your friends will leave you in their snow dust.

The 900ace turbo is 2500$ more than the standard Ace ....that's about ten years worth of Stinkos for the GSA

Great Idea on getting two Mike, care to send some funds for #2 and I will store and maintain it free of charge for when you come up

          Go for the two stroke!!!
Ski-doo has that E-Tec engine dialed in perfectly, you wont have any issues, forget the four stroke, I always say my next sled will be a ski-doo, I have a couple polaris dinosaurs that are just awesome. Click image for larger version

Having had a four stroke RX1, I'd never have a two stroke again.
Kind of reminded me of the K1200RS.

            Mike,
Two strokes of years past are nothing like a two stroke today, the new ones are so efficient and quiet and durable, fuel injected and ski-doos e-tec two strokes are unbeatable. There fuel economy is unbelievable they are so efficient they barely sip any oil. I have nothing but praise for them. Four strokes on a sled does nothing for me.

Injection is nice, turbos are great, but I'd rather be blown !

Get the turbo power and never look back...... Adventure Touring Sled at it's best.
You'll be left behind if you don't !

If you want to work with it , go for the Skandic , ( pont plus long et plus large = moins souvent pris )
If you want speed , well go with the biggest engine ...
I owned a Tundra a few years back , and I was opening the trails in the wood for the bigger sleds ...

And finally , go 4 strokes , so you won't be after us as to what oil to use ...

Fun but cold. When I bought my Sea-Doo the guy told me that the turbo charged motors require more maintenance. 2 stroke was not offered.

Many car and trucks are these days. I have a Volvo with 180k, no turbo issues.
You need to flog 'em often to keep things exercised. If you just putt-putt around
                  they'll stick when needed.

Reminds me of an Aussie comedian saying that he did a show in Montreal, and he said something about riding a skidoo. Here is Aus that's sort of just a generic term for a skidoo right, but in the room in Montreal the crowd got all "no, way Polaris is better" or something like that, and a big brawl broke out amongst opposing supporters. Thanks Pete, going to have a look at them at the same time as the Ski-Doo expedition.

Eric, with that big box on the back you'll be able to smuggle good beer back to Quebec from Vermont.
Maybe some real Maple Syrup for Martin also.

Sad part is I'll have to go back at the dealer next week as they did not have all the info on the 2022 Ski-doo lineup.

How the hell does that thing work in the snow?

I see you went for the speakers. I declined, I have my own portable. You are now a man for all seasons!

No speakers, I also have my own portable and couldn't justify 1000$ price tag for speakers. Now I have to take a close look at accesories before I take delivery...I still have some time before the snow melts :-)
