I am with Mike, riding the same places gets old. The DGR in Maggie Valley was awesome. We ought to rethink the BRPR as well.

Eric and I stayed in Athens, OH for a few days last spring.
It has possibilities. We stayed at the university's hotel and
had to walk up to the bars and restaurants. It's a college
      town.
The riding was pretty good for the most part though.

Ideally, I'd like a two day ride to the destination.
      Western PA got anything?

I'm with Wes, besides, it's a rally wherever and whenever we ride. I like Watstull, and the timeframe is OK

If it was only a day ride away for me it would be different, but because
it's two full days on secondary roads, I make a vacation out of it.
There's only so many ways you can ride there so the journey is usually
the same. Then when we get there it's more of the same.

I think we need to focus here. If we're talking a BRPR you'll either be in Virginia, NC or Tennessee to be anywhere near the BRP, plus the other good riding that goes with it. To not start to encroach on DGR You likely need to be around Bristol at the southernmost.

I doubt that I'll be at that gathering this year so I can make the MOA Rally in
June near Nashville and see my daughter.
I've mentioned Abingdon before, it's 20 miles north of Bristol and has great
roads in all directions. Bill GSA and EricM have been there.

Some very nice roads in that area.

Yes, 421 "The Snake" starts there. Great road but NOT on a weekend, too many HDs slowing you down.
Also 16 "Back of The Dragon" is just up the road.
We did a nice ride over to the BRP too.

If I had to choose between Athens and Abington... I would go back to Abington.

@ Rob, I wouldn't give two cents for the triple nickel.

Just checked Abington on Gmaps and like it. Lots of good rides as mentioned above. I like 221 as well.
