Didn't know it was possible to use bicycle bars.

Lee, Bert's modified this bike a LOT! Not only lots of electrical plugs for this and that, but bicycle bars and playing cards clothespinned to flap in the spokes!

I didn't either, until I found them on ebay and then amazon.
Extra thick and strong Aluminum tubular bars. and many of them are 1 1/4" at the clamp, just like the s1000xr.
Not many mc or bicycles use 1 1/4" clamps [only some of the GSs]. The other bmws [ example: f800gt] use 1 1/8" clamps.

If any one wants to look into the bicycle bars [ a bicycle uses a single clamp] check to be sure the clamping area is wide enough for a mc double clamp.
