    Kars4Kids

    Is Kars4Kids a legitimate charity?

We gave our last car to Goodwill but they royally screwed the buyer. I know, because he called me. The car needed an $80 part but it was going to cost $850 to have in put in (kind of like replacing a K12RS O-ring). The buyer was only told the price of the part although they had all of the information. The guy had bought the car for his grand daughter.

I hear ads for Kars4Kids constantly on the radio these days.

Is this an honest, upfront charity with most of the proceeds going to help kids?

Donate Cash Directly to the Charity

Apparently it is best to do a private vehicle sale and donate cash directly to the charity of your choice.

Many charities have high overhead costs. This includes Kars4Kids at about 50%.

We're planning on donating to St. Jude Children's Hospital in St. Louis, which covers all costs for treating pediatric cancers, including family meals and housing, and any medical costs not taken care of by insurance. Eligibility is not limited by location, ethnicity, race or religion.
