buying tires one at a time

No, it's not my plan. It's just how it works for me. A few months ago, I had a slow leak in the front tire of my GS. I couldn't find the leak, nor could the dealer. Screw it. Just put on a new tire. That front tire still had a lot of miles left in it as did the rear tire, but I didn't want to get a flat tire down the road. At the time, I had a set of tires in my garage at home, but no easy way to get to them. Yesterday, while riding to Fredericksburg, VA for tacos I had another leak in the rear tire. Yes, tacos were about 100 miles of back roads away, but someone had to eat them. The taco place is right next to Morton's BMW. I lost 9 lbs of air pressure in the rear tire. I didn't see a nail, but fortunately Morton's was able to check it in the dunk tank. Yep, I ran over a staple or a small brad on the trip. Morton's does not repair tires, so another new tire on the rear with similar tread design to the front tire. Again, I had a new set of tires in my garage, but 100 miles away. At least the ride and the tacos were good. MattB will probably ride to Morton;s to salvage my tire.

If you are an MOA member and have the roadside assistance option, they will pay up to $250 (?) per tire.
I used it in Nashville a few years ago and me a guy there that had made two claims that year.
To find a slow leak, sometimes you have to air them way up... like 80#s or more.
I used to donate my take-off to the local stunt team to burn up.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I'm not a member of MOA. I ordered a new front tire to match the rear {anakee adventure+ It's a shame to waste tires like this, but things happen.. Had I been able to find the leak, I would have plugged it. The only other flat tire that I had on a bike was also at Morton;s, but a mile down the road. I found that leak and plugged it. At least the flat and the throw-away tires were the inexpensive Dunlops that I purchased a few months ago.
