    For the home construction members....

A home near us just had a new roof done. I was amazed as to how hard and efficiently the crew worked. They completed the job in one day. See pics. We had ours done several years ago, a slightly larger roof but with the same size crew, and it took them 2 weeks.

Two weeks is pretty slow if the could work every day and one day is f*$kin' fast.
Wait for the next big wind storm !

Are those guys wearing fall arrest harnesses? Hard to tell from that photo. We have gone so far down the rabbit hole of safety here in Australia, that work like that would need a fall protection handrail installed to the full perimeter of the building. If not, they would need to be wearing harnesses and be tethered to a compliant roof anchor point. There would be two or three days in just getting the handrail installed here.

I have not seen home roofing crews wear safety harnesses in Iowa.

@ Lee, "undocumented workers" are exempt.

No harnesses or wasted movements. It was like watching a precision drill team.

Time lapse would've been cool here.

They also got a late start due to Lowe's taking an hour or so to load the shingle palettes.

I would not be happy with two weeks because I would worry about rain or snow causing damage.
Around here I would guess 2 days for a ranch style home with a White crew and 1 day for a Mexican crew.
Amish are also fast but they tend to do large farm buildings instead of houses.

The fast crew was Mexican. They were facing a rain deadline and finished a day early.
