It has nothing tp do with large rallies and everything to do with the kind of rally. In 2002 the BMWRA National Rally was held in Red River NM. The first day of the rally nearly every store and restaurant in town was closed due to the local's perception that this would be like the "other" large rally held in their town. After hundreds of BMW "bikers" walked the town, bought things at the few open shops and dined at the few open restaurants, word got out. The next day EVERYTHING in town was open for us.

I'm not conflating large rallies with the ilk that caused this violent action. I'm simply stating that I prefer smaller gatherings with riders of similar interests and avoid Sturgis, Red River, Laconia, Daytona, et al for the obvious reasons.Originally posted by cabnfvr View PostIt has nothing tp do with large rallies and everything to do with the kind of rally.
