My Last Ride... A Tough Decision...

Friends and quasi-friends... Hope everyone is well. Haven't been here in a while...

After a lot of thought and deliberation, I've decided to hang up my leathers and walk away from riding. Kinda looks like I've made my last ride. The decision was 100% based on health and age reasons. It's time. As Clint Eastwood said in Dirty Harry... "a man has got to know his limitations".

I'll be putting my last (and favorite) bike, a 2006 BMW K1200S, up for sale on eBay in the next week or so. If anyone is interested, PM me for asking price and details. And yes... it's an end of an era, but what a wonderful experience it's been.

I hope to see youz guyz now and then.

You have made a lasting impression on the riding community and the BMW world especially, Jerry. Yours is still the best looking K1200s out there.

Moving on from an activity that has been such a large part of your life is definitely a tough decision. I respect that you have the fortitude to do so and I am thankful that such a decision has not presented itself to me. Best wishes to you and Amber on your new adventures.

I've switched to cycling. Not the same, but not cold turkey. And maybe helpful for preventing future heart events for me.

Wishing you all the best and hope to experience your boutique campground in the not so distant future.

Truly one of the best riders ever. From weaving through the not-so-slow sport bike crowd at THC to weaving through the slow Victory crowd, you have been an inspiration and hope to be just like you when, if ever, we grow up.

Sad day Jerry, but a good call. There are so many things I do that I would hate to give up but there will be a day.....

Oh man. A sad thought on a sad day. One of my riding friends decided to hang it up - he went from a K1600 to a Mazda Miata. He and his wife drive it all over the Olympic Peninsula and scenic areas in the Pacific Northwest. Seems to work for him.

One of the favorite things about my '22 R1250S is that it's got a Remus muffler, from Pirate's Lair.

Yes.. Amber is fine, but tired.. Thanks for asking. She's overworked and the stress of taking care of me during recovery took it's toll.. She needs a vacation. My plan is to take the bike sale money and treat her to her bucket-list trip to Paris next spring..

Paris, I hear that eating there is an experience in itself.
My friend has been there many times and laughs at how
                      waitstaff treats foreigners.
Buy her a red Louis Vuitton handbag and matching shoes.
                      She's earned it !!

Louboutin shoes are the perfect match in this case Mike.

We still have our Pirate hats. On my morning walks, I wear mine on the sunny days and, like this morning, the toad stranglers.
