Forgot your Mac Password? Here are step by step instructions on how to reset it.

To unlock your mac system and reset password:

1. Completely shut down your computer.
2. For a Windows Keyboard: hold down the win key + alphabet "R" key and then press the power button on the mac system.
3. For a Mac Keyboard

And here is how to reset your Keychain Password to the default setting so a password does not have to be entered to use the Keychain protected applications:

How to reset keychain password to default on Mac computers:

1. Restart computer.
2. Sign in with the new password.
3. Go to Applications Folder.
4. Go to Utilities.
5. Go to Keychain Access.
6. Go to Preferences.
7. Select "Reset My Default Keychain". (Reverts to factory defaults and creates a new empty "login" keychain. Your current default keychain will be moved aside, but not deleted.)
