    I need wide boots.

Here in my dotage, things turn to shit. Case in point, I've developed a bunion on my right foot. It went from a C width to an EE width. My Alpinestar boots no longer fit.. And I'm having problems finding anybody that makes waterproof, that is, Goretex, boots in that width. My current hope is a German company, Daytona, who makes one boot in wide widths. I'm not that hopeful, plus the pricetag is $449. I may not live long enough to amortize that. I'd welcome other options, if you know any.

I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.

I have wide feet and wear the BMW with the buckles. I have no idea
what model they are now, I've had them since 2007.
My dealer assured me that they would fit my fat calves too.
They are starting to seperate on the toe where the shifter touches and
I'm feeling it's getting time to replace them. I'll buy the same boot again.

Good luck buying the same model and style of boot 17 years later. Whenever I find a boot or running shoe I like, the manufacturer seems to change it before I can get them.

When you're thinking about amortization on a $450 pair of boots you're over thinking it. Think of it as a sunk cost and relax. But I'm the guy who had to look up "dotage" so take my advice for what it's worth.

Aha! There may be plan B. I took the offending boot, the right one, to my local cobbler today, and they said that it's possible to stretch the boot where I need it stretched. I pick it up Monday. I'll let you know..

I'm saying that the problem is solved, for now. The right boot is roomier, although still snug. But it doesn't seem to want to run a blister when I walk in the boots. And all for $18.
