I'm going to test ride a 2025 GSA with ASA on Tuesday. The green and gold looks great. I'm not sure if I will like the ASA, but I want to try it. I hate to sell my GS, but it looks like it could happen Does anyone who has the ASA option have any comments?

Replying to myself. I rode to Adventure BMW in Chesapeake, VA this morning and took a 2015 GSA with ASA for a short ride. It's very odd not to have a clutch lever. The bike rode great in manual and drive modes. The manual shifting (no clutch lever) was very smooth as was the shifting in auto Drive mode. I would really have to get used to not having a clutch lever. I was at a stop sign and without thinking I blipped the throttle. Not a good thing to do with the ASA because the bike is in drive and it thinks you want to GO. Just a habit that I would have to break if i was getting a bike with ASA. I'm not. ADV BMW has a green and gold 2024 GS without the ASA. I rode that also. I preferred that bike. YMMVLast edited by allikanbe; 3 weeks ago.

Rick, the dealership owner, gave super advice on the purchase and I got a good deal on my trade-in. Now, if was not so darn windy ourside....

I have some big silver suitcase-looking bags on until the bmw bags come available. The bags I have on now are Givi. Adv BMW said they will just give me the new BMW bags in exchange for the Givi suitcases The Givi bags require those ugly frames to attach to the bike. The BMW bags will delete the ugly frames.

Did you see this deal from BMW?
Purchase your 2024 BMW R 1300 GS before the end of the year, and you'll get 50% off the Vario Side Cases when they become available in 2025.
Don't miss out — visit your nearest BMW Motorrad dealer today and discover the #SpiritOfGS.
I don't know what your bags are worth if you sell them.

I had no complaints about my 2019 R1250GS. It was a great bike. I have about 200 miles on the new 2024 R1300GS and I have to say that this bike is better in every way. The most noticeable things are the shifting, with or without using the clutch lever, and the feeling that the steering is lighter and easier. I was never a fan of the shift pro on the 2019. It always felt like a hard shift and banged into gear. The r1300 just slips right into gear with or without using the clutch lever. Another nice item is the electric windscreen. Although i leave it in one position almost all the time, it's nice to have an easy option to raise or lower the screen while moving. The 2019 was too awkward to adjust while moving.. Looking forward to warmer weather. It was 49 while riding today. That was fine with heated grips, gerbing jacket and a heated seat. Warmer will be better.

I added my upper Denali lights and mount to my 2024 R1300GS today. I removed the lights from my 1250gs before trading it. The 1300 requires a different mount so I bought that from Denali. The good news is that the lights work and it wasn't as difficult as I made it. There is a great you tube video showing step-by-step how to do it. Thankfully, removing the beak and the 2 side panels was easier on the 1300 than it was on the 1250. ymmv. Also, the screws were basically the same and I didn't run into shoulder screws and multiple different lengths of screws. I added the Denali B6 brake light, also removed from my 1250, last week. Relatively easy, but the wire is not as hidden as on the 1250. That's fine. I need to have all the "hey, there's a motorcycle" help with lights as I can get.
The OEM brake lights on the 1300 are very bright and much better than those on the 1250. I have 560 miles on the bike. I'm ready for the 600 mile service.

Did the bike come with the NAV six or do you have to use bmw app for navigation now?Last edited by Bmorganjr; 2 weeks ago.

Had my 600 mile service done yesterday at Adventure BMW while I waited. It's good to get a "free" oil change. Got a bit cool on the ride there and back. It's only 45 miles from me, but even with gerbings heated jacket and BMW heated grips, it was a cool ride. Nothing fun about the interstate on a Friday either. This 1300GS is really a great bike.
