For those of us that have a Garmin Inreach satellite tracking and rescue plan I'm passing along a cost saving tip I've been using for years. Garmin allows subscribers to put their plan on a suspended status reducing your monthly bill to $0. You can reactivate it at any time on short notice and it will resume billing at that time. I'm pretty sure I'm not taking any multi-day trips until April so putting my plan in suspended status saves me about $35/month for the level of service I have.

Thanks for the reminder Wes... Yes, my plan is $35 a month.
I have the in-Reach Mini 2 and keep forgetting to "snooze" it.
I bought it for my Texas trip, but use it occasionally for hikes
or if I'm going to be working in the woods. Especially if I'm
out there by myself. I wonder how well it will work if I'm under
the canopy of trees though.
I recently noticed that my iPhone 15 Pro has a satellite feature
when I don't have any service. I haven't checked it out yet.

After I posted this on another forum someone chimed in with the news that this snooze option is going away at our next annual renewal. It looks like we'll be able to drop back to a minimum plan for something like $8/month or cancel the service and sign up again when you want to turn it back on.
