The Perfect Campground.. Need Advice

Keep them coming.. I'm learning a lot.... I like the idea of selling bottled water on-site .. We're re-evaluating the tent platforms.. I may flip the idea we initially had and have almost all sites flat and grassy and maybe 1 or two platform sites for those that want them. I'd planned on putting motorcycle tie-down rings in strategic places on those platforms, btw to keep the tents from blowing away..

So far we should have the following..

5 tent sites (3 grassy/2 with platforms) 1 site with large furnished tent already set up, and at least 2 sites with tottaly enclosed structures.
A walk-in enclosed shower
24/7 potable water access
24/7 Hosepipe access
Charging station for phones, etc.
2 Picnic tables and 1 swing- One of the picnic tables will have a roof over it. .
A large fire pit / social area with chairs & free firewood...
Lockable storage area for gear when off-site.
On site "green" toilet
Trees everywhere and hammocks are welcome.
Pet friendly
GS rider friendly
Closest food stores, gas, tool /garage access - 5 miles
Closest resturants,, Bar-B-Que, Pizza, Subway, Family Resturant- 5 miles
Closest BMW dealer 15 minutes
Trailer & vehicle parking area for those who tow
Bikes will be able to park by camp spot.
Sometime next year we should have a covered parking area for bikes at entrance next to attendants cabin.
No plans for electricity other than some solar lighting

While talking about solar, it'd be pretty easy to install a battery bank with an inverter and solar charging station. This could provide adequate power CPAP machines and charging cellphones without an issue. There are calculators out there to determine how many watts you need for what type of devices.

I was at United Rental today getting some equipment and they had a bathhouse trailer. I doubt it'd be hard to convert a trailer into a bathhouse, put in solar power, septic and that takes care of that.

I do a fair amount of camping off the bike and have never thought about or even seen a wooden platform for putting down a tent. Unless the tent is 'freestanding', there's no way to stake down the corners of a tent on a raised wooden platform. Most camp sites have a tent 'pad' which is usually a designated spot that measures large enough for a family sized tent with some room left over. These days I prefer camping with the hammock versus a tent, so trees are required or at least some sturdy wooden or metal poles to secure the hammock suspension to for the night.

I don't usually have a need for a grill but I didn't see that listed on your campsite feature summary. Car campers & some bike campers, like to grill, so perhaps a grill in the fire pit/common area would be good to have or simply have one or two available, if there is a need.

For bikers, having a brick or concrete step stone embedded in the ground for a kickstand to rest on is nice. Gary had those placed near the Airstream in the days before he built his barndominium. Very handy.

Lastly, I didn't see anything on your list or recommendations from others, but what about various sundries being made available for things like toothpaste, bottled water, notions, novelty items, odds & ends, etc.? At a bare minimum, one of those prophylactic dispensers featuring Anaconda, Super Anaconda, Bareback & Ribbed (for her pleasure) should be considered.

At every campsite there will be a kickstand pad.. that's a given...

I'm pretty sure we'll have a grill next to the fire pit.. While Amber can cook over a roaring fire.. I can not.. I need the "controlability" of a grill.

As for all the other stuff.. toothpaste, Altoids, scented candles, sexual accouterments, etc... Geezzus.. It's gonna be a campsite.. Not a freakn' Wallmart.. ;-)

Sounds like work to me. I just came back from a 9,500 mile camping trip with my truck. Was gone for six weeks. I saw many different camping sites from National Parks, State Parks, Private parks, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and plain old primitive in the woods. Question: Will you take RV's? How big? There are many more of them than motorcycles. What I looked for the most when it came to camping for the night was a data or wifi signal. Also I believe you need a table for each site. Water is a bare minimum.
At a paid private site with no hook ups the charge was in the $30 to $45 range. This included a hot shower. I did not see any wooden tent platforms.
