Thanks for the kind words. Never thought I'd sell either, but the plans to restore the Ducati never got off the ground. However it was purchased by Steve Allen of "Bevel Heaven" in the San Francisco bay area, and if he chooses to restore it, I've got right of first refusal to buy it back, so hope springs eternal that it may yet return home. and the K1200RS is 24 years old, and sold with a clear conscience, never let me down. Meanwhile new adventures on the new bike in the future will be the focus. More to follow this week when I pick up the new bike. Fortunately, the are no spendy farkles available for this bike

You might want to see if Ducati still offers an accessory catalog. I still have one from our 1999 ST2. It's 58 pages and the accessories start on page 44. Prior to page 44 the accessories consist of pistons, rods, brake components, wheels, exhaust and lots of carbon thingys. That sure was a fun bike. I sure your Duc will be too!
p.s. The Ducati Panigale V2 fits me. And our dealer now sells Ducatis. Temptation abounds.

Well, let's see, the old RS weighed 625 lbs +- and made something like 120 HP, the Ducati weighs closer to 500 lbs, and makes 170 HP, more than enough for big trouble. A racing exhaust and tag along CPU flash loses weight, adds to HP, and makes more noise - buy if from the dealer for $4,500, and then pay for installation and tune, not in the cards......Originally posted by Loggiebone View PostSweet. I thought the hp would be a bit above 200??

Oh, I was only being facetious about the lack of spendy stuff for the bike, it's crazy what is available - plenty of stepping stones into bankruptcy.................Originally posted by cabnfvr View Post"Fortunately, the are no spendy farkles available for this bike."

Seemingly. The RS sold to a rider who came out from Las Vegas to buy and pick up the bike. The Ducati went to Steve Allen from "Bevel Heaven", we struck a deal that if he chooses to restore it I'd get the right of first refusal, so it might come back home..............Originally posted by EricM View Post
Congrats, hope they both found a good home. I trust you will have a blast on the new Duck.

Craig, I remember following that beautiful RS. It simply dove into SoCal afternoon freeway traffic, splitting lanes fearlessly. After waiting for me to catch up a few times, we flew over the mountains into the desert. As the RS disappeared into the distance on the way to Death Valley, it was unfazed by sand or wind in the low water crossings. Trona to Stovepipe Wells in about 10-minutes flat was a real education! Thanks (i guess)!
