    New around these parts

    Hello everyone,

I have a decade of riding under my belt and love continuing to learn and grow. I'm on my tenth bike and finally found the keeper. Some bikes lasted longer than others. I started off on cruisers so I wouldn't kill myself but I didn't like the seating position so I ended up on a WeeStrom for the first few years. Then I caught the ST bug and bounced between an F8ST->FJR->Tiger800->VFR->SV650->R1200R and finally landed with my favorite of all time, R1200RS. I'm in love!

Currently stationed in the SF bay area and would like to expand my touring experience before having to leave in 2021. Plan on doing long weekends and maybe a five day trip this summer.

    Ride safe!

Welcome to the monkey house, Doc. My question is, where are you going in 2021 and why? Two questions, I guess.
I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.

Rob, thanks! My tour here will be done and I will have to transfer to my next duty location (Coast Guard). I won't find out for about a year where that will be but will know the options in about 9 months.

Welcome aboard, Shannon! Cabnfvr referred to SGR... that's the Sierra Gold Rush Rally, which we have been having for 12 years, immediately following Labor Day. It's a total non-rally... nothing organized or required except to have fun and ride great roads with awesome people. I'll be making an announcement sometime in Spring... you would be more than welcome to join us if you can make it!

Would love to do it but September is a hard month for me to get away being prime hurricane season.
