Just bought a used S1000XR and the service indicator is going to annoy me in a couple of weeks. I been trying to find out how to reset the service indicator without paying the dealer. The GS911 serivice tool is expensive but I am hearing about a motocscan app that can do the job. Going to keep researching but maybe someone here already has experience?

I just bought the app and the OBDLink MX+. I loaded Motoscan on a Kindle Fire that I had laying around (I have Apple products mostly) and it is easy peasy. I just reset the service light and it took about 3 minutes. Initial setup of the software/OBD device took an additional 10 minutes. Good stuff.

The XR may have the common rectangular OBDC plug. If it's round you'll need the adapter.

You can even save a few more dollars by just buying the OBD LX version, the MX is just the newer version for GM and Fords.
