This is Jim who rides the BMW S1000XR and was at the Arkansas
rally last year. Looking at going again this year if all possible.
Really liked the overall setting and riding, hoping for good weather.
Welcome, Jim. Looking forward to meeting you at the rally. I'm still up in the air right now about hitting the Hillbilly this year, but I'd love to make it.
Dare I say it? Not too sure here. The K1300S is the OXCART. Designed to encroach upon denied airspace at high altitudes and high airspeeds. There are some serious folks who are keeping their K1200S and K1300S bikes alive. In my fucked up, befuddled mind, the K1200S is analogous to the A-12 (Mach 3.2, single seat, designed to overfly), and the K1300S is analogous to the SR-71, (crewed by 2, and it can fly at a nominal Mach 2.8, and is designed to fly very near, with side-looking recon shit). All those aircraft are sitting in museums. The mighty K is still out there, making sonic booms on various back roads of the USA. Highway 395, out of Burns, and down to Lakeview, might be a good example. Maybe the S1000XR is equivalent to the F-35. It does everything pretty well. Slow it down a bit and it's at least semi-stealth. One little twist and you are back to super-cruise. I like my little red S1000XR a whole lot!
The GS is a C130. Capable of handling multiple missions with extreme prejudice. Throw some boxes on and you have a long-range transport. Knobbies get you ground support capabilities. Electronics make it smart and combat control becomes the focus. The C130 has been around forever and is one of the most versatile aircraft in service. It just isn't that fast!
I love the A10. I did many exercises with them in a past life and loved to listen to them roll in, unload a shit ton of ammo and extricate. But let me tell you, when Spooky shows up to the party it is a whole 'nother story!

Spooky indeed... making a glorious mess of things! ?
