The Trackday Gathering / Meet Up Thread

So, my 2018 Trackday season is over, but it would be great if a bunch of us from this site can get together and meet up a few places in 2019. Putting faces to names is what it's all about. So much more fun gathering with friends. I'm currently based (stuck) in south central Pennsylvania.

In the past I've been known to be found at:

    VIR (VA)
    PittRace (PA)
    NJMP (NJ)
    NYST (NY)
    Palmer (MA)
    Calabogie (Onterio, Canada)
    Roebling Road (GA)
    NCBike (NC)
    Summit Point (WV)
    Thompson (CT)

    Someday (soon) List:

    Barber (AL)
    NCM Motosports Park (KY)
    Road Atlanta (GA)
    Nelson Ledges (OH)
    Matt
    Street: 2011 Ducati Multistrada S :: 2000 Honda VFR @ 39k :: 2002 BMW K1200RS @ 13k ... round 3
    Track: 2008 Suzuki GSX-R 750 :: 2008 Honda CBR1000RR
    Dirt: Honda CRF450X
IBA #25520 - Iron Butting the Blue Ridge Parkway

If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride that thing could do.

I am seriously considering CSS at Barber this year. You might not be into doing the school, but it would be great to get my kid out there for a day.

Au contraire... I'm a serious believer in schools. Aaron Stephenson of Cornerspeed/Cornerspin helped me over the hump on an issue that I was having with right hand turns. I seriously think that I hugged the guy that day. Many had provided advice that wasn't helping, Aaron nailed my problem and in an instant moved me beyond it. Truly transformational. Unless I catch MM93 out on the track, there's always more to learn.

Bigger issue for me is that if I make the LONG trip to Barber, I need to be there AT LEAST 2 days, preferably 3 days and/or coupling it with another southern track such as NCM that I mention, or Road Atlanta.

JJ, Barber is by far my most favorite track. Added benefit, especially with William, is visiting the Museum which is on site. It's fantastic.

Maybe we're all a little bit longer of tooth now but the couple of times we did Roebling as a group was really a hoot. Maybe again??

And anyone who hasn't been to barber in a few years the museum is almost doubled in size and the walkway over the track is completed. Fantastic place!

That would be fun. Maybe watch the hooligans tear up the track. We like to watch.

Funny that you mention Roebling Road Doug. Those [i-bmw] track days were the first four days that I'd ever done. I absolutely LOVED them and have fond memories of Roebling.

I haven't been back there since 2009. Looking at the track map as a refresher, it looks less technical than my favorite spots now with only 7 sweeping turns. It's a haul from PA, but I'd be game to go back. Barber is definitely on my near view bucket list.

Matt, which track day is close to the Non-Invitational? Say second week in September around the 14th/15th?

Joe, in about a month I'll have a much better idea as many of the organizations post their schedule around the start of the new year. Last year would have been PERFECT as an org had a three day event (Sun-Tues) at VIR the same week as your Non-Invitational. I'm hoping for something similar this year.

If it were to be, the same, I was hoping that a handful might dance with me at VIR on Monday/Tuesday, I'd have everything a person could possibly need there including a tire changer and an extra bike if desired, to ride the track for a few days and then heading to the Non-Invitational to finish off the week.

I only been to on track day with Cousi in the past and loved the experience, wouldn't mind attending another in the future.

I'm going to put something together Matt. Like a three gun competition. Dirt, Track, Street.

Hell yeah! This gives me 9 months to figure out how to haul 4 bikes and all my gear since I just volunteered to bring along an extra track bike.

Joe, I messaged you. If you can flex just a little (a week), it could work PURRRRFECT and those that wanted would be coming to an awesome venue with one of the best hosts in the business. Let me know your thoughts.

I'd recommend the street segment before the track segment. Usually the street following the track does not work out too well of some of us
I am interested in what you come up with.
