        WHAT A RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just this minute finished, and I now can have a life back until next year's event.

Congrats to Ricky Brabec for being the first American to win the Dakar. And what a brilliant gesture to come in second on the final stage which saw his fellow teammate take the final stage win.

So very, very sad that Paulo Goncalves passed away.

Aussie Toby Price gets on the podium at 3rd overall. What an awesome effort considering what he went through with Paulo Goncalves. He rode the remaining stages as #racingforspeedy.

Then there was the time that Andrew Short lent Toby his rear tyre so Toby could stay in the race. Andrew went on to finish the stage on just the rim.

ALL competitors, whether they made it through the 12 stages or not, are true legends!!
        2015 Black BMW K1300R @ 49,200 km / 30,500 mi
        2006 Honda FireBlade @ 83,200 km / 51,800 mi - 3 x transcontinentals & a whole lotta hooning

        DEAD: 2012 Acid Green BMW K1300R @ 172,600 km / 107,200 mi - Hit a kangaroo - RIP dear friend

I've really enjoyed the scenery of Saudi Arabria that was presented by the various modes;ie. helicopter, on vehicle cameras, etc.

I'm sure the other contestants had their challenges as well but Toby was only 24 minutes and 6 seconds back from 1st. As you mentioned, considering the challenges he had (and being first on scene when Paulo crashed) that's remarkable.
