Talked to Tim Buyse today and he's going to check on his reservation.
The restoration is done, except for a oil leak on his BSA.

Checked with Steve today and he's out. No chance harvest will be done by next week.
I thought Iowa had more out but saw today only 5% of the corn is out and only 7% of the soy beans are out.

Well, we lose some interesting stories with Steve out. Maybe we can tell some lies that are 1/2 as good as the true stories of Steve's Adventures.

You know that section of 39 in Texas with the boots on the fence. Steve did 144 indicated on his RR on that straight. In shock I said to Steve, "That's a short straightaway!" With his characteristic grin he replied, "Yeah. That f-ker will stop too!"

"Short straightaway" is right! I'm surprised Steve ever even saw the boots!

I'm packing now. Don't need the chain lube this year, tee-hee!

Susan, leave the thunderstorms back East! I hope you all have a great few days of weather and fun roads (of course, wishing you great burgers and pie goes without saying!).

Do you have some interesting overnight stops lined up?

Sure, Tim, those are all semi-interesting stops - BUT WHAT ABOUT PIE?

Do you mean Mammoth Springs instead of Monument Spring?
We did not get up close to the Walbash Bridge but we could kinda see it behind the highway bridge from Lover's Leap south of Hannibal.
Hwy 79 south of Lover's Leap is a good road.

We're on the south side of Springfield Mo. Got up to 81 today.
Hope the road is dry on 125 tomorrow. The forecast up here changed from 0% rain tomorrow to 70%.
At least it shows light rain.

This week's forecast is as erratic as they ever get. I've been watching for two weeks - it has changed significantly every day. The only constant is that it might rain on Wednesday. Climate change is causing this, I'm sure.

Your right, today's forecast is looking better again. Only a slight chance rain. The forecasters like to mess with us.

Finished packing and as loaded as can be. Leaving out of here at 6:30 tomorrow, if the Creeks don't rise.
