Yellville has fun on Tukey Trot Weekend! We stayed for the dancing one year.

We've stayed at the Pinewood Cabins. Both places are about a block from the courthouse. We thought we would try it.

Looks like construction has started on something at the old Gordons property.
When we went by in Oct is was just the old concrete slabs.

I would think a good motel would do well in Jasper because of the good location.
I think the only regular motel left in town is the Little Buffalo Terrace.
The River View is closed now and only does canoe rentals.

I agree, Lee. The long term success of the Ozark Cafe indicates that there is high interest from travelers in Jasper. I am not a successful entrenpeneur, but from what I have seen, the Jasper businesses as a whole were not run particularly well. The Gordon was old and had issues that got worse as Mr. and Mrs. Gordon aged out. I thought the other motels were sketchy, too. The cabin you and Deb rented was the only modern place in town. The grocery store on the other hand seems to thrive. Really, though, who knows?

Today is July 25. I finally made reservations in the Carlton-Marion. Room #105. October 5-8, leaving Friday the 9th. I am bringing my own roommate this year.
