I did my hit and run. I rode up Thursday, had a great evening with the early attendees ( Dale, The Eddie, Matt, and Steve). Then I cut out early Friday so I could attend a memorial service on Saturday, today. It was a great ride going home, as I cut out most of the interstates and rode US 58 from Damascus, VA, to Galax. Sorry I missed most of the rally, but I had two great days of riding.

Kentucky 2023. The weather was great this year! We spent the first night in Bardstown and went through La Grange on the way to Slade. La Grange is a cool place. Too bad we missed the train (which runs down the middle of main street!). There's always drama with cars failing to get out of the way. The coffee shop had everything from man-bun clientele to a few BDR riding customers to a lot of bike photos on the wall, and of course, really good coffee.










We stopped by an old store out in the country but I guess they weren't open yet.

Go this way the GPS says. It will be fine it says. Actually it was a cool dead end.

Kentucky, part II. We are travelling on Longlick Road.


Headed to the Dual Culvert. We managed to catch this pretty little thing at the entrance.


Dual Culvert is named for the construction process. One side is smooth walled and the other corrugated. No one knows why.


Why did the chicken cross the road?


Lees Lick. One never knows what one can find on a back road. Perhaps some day we will grow up.


Lunchtime. Hall's On The River. Susan wanted Lamb Fries but there were 28.99 reasons why she decided to pass.




Our second choice was excellent. Susan doesn't like dill pickles so I got them all.

58 more miles of roads like this and we really are home. (NC 209 out of Hot Springs NC. Beats interstate!)
