Pirates Lair I-BMW Reunion Party Oct 16th, 2021 : You Are Invited!

Where: 122 Flat Top Mountain Rd, Fairview, NC 28730
    When: Sat October 16th- Noon-Until....
    Contact : 828-628-7093 or Pirate@acelink.net
Nearby Motel: Ramada by Wyndham Asheville Southeast - https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/ramada...ntown/overview

Been missing the old gang of deplorables? Me, too. How about one last party while we're still alive? Mark your calendar for Sat October 16th, 2021. Amber and I will be hosting this one-day event (our first since 2007) for former I-BMW members, posters, or lurkers and their guests and you are invited. Like all or most of the past I-BMW events there will be no admission fee... no forms or waivers to sign.. no oath of fealty. It'll start around noon and end when the cows come home or when somebody starts talking politics.

The event will be held on our 6 acre mountain property (aka.. Paradise Ridge Campground) just a few miles east of Asheville, NC and 5 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway. If all goes as planned we'll have food, drinks, campfires, outdoor toilets, scantily clad jugglers, maybe even live music. Ride or drive. We don't care. We just want our friends to show up, eat some burgers, hang out for a few hours, then get the fuck out.

Generally the leaves are colorful in October, the gravity isn't as strong, the nights are cool, and there's little rain so (if all the planets align) you should expect excellent riding weather. Also, there are no holidays worth mentioning around the 16th to stop you from coming or get in the way of our planned debauchery..

We have plenty of room for parking although some of it will be in a grassy pasture. There are motels nearby if attendees want to overnight in the area. As the party will be in leaf-peeping season, I suggest you make motel reservations sooner rather than later. Limited on-site camping will also be available. You'd need to talk to Amber about that. She runs our campground. If you bring intoxicants,.bring enough to share.

Interested? Let me know so we can start making plans. The last Pirates Lair Party had over 70 riders so it should be fun if not interesting.. Remember.. we may never pass this way again..

I'll be posting updates here and in our newsletters as the year progresses. We're looking forward to seeing you.. Well.. most of you..

I love it, Jerry! Seeing old friends, and when I say old you know who I'm talking about, and telling tall tales is a perfect recipe for a good time!

Great.. Hope to see you there.. Bring your wife.. -

It's gonna be a challenge to find a lot of the old band.. I've lost contact with many of them through the centuries.. Ken the Grass is harder to locate than Bigfoot... Louie (in Canada)..almost all our Texas contingent..So many others. If you or anyone else here has contact info for anyone from the old days.. please let me know so I can contact and invite them..

        Sounds like fun.
We made a reservation for Arkansas that week in case there's one more Hillbilly Rally.
We'll see how it works out.

Agreed. The loss of all of the built-up K bike data on that site was immense.

Mondrage... In case you missed it in our Nov/Dec newsletter... not all of I-BMW info is lost.. In fact you can still access hundreds of pages..Most of the early years are spotty at best, but many others are still there. Here's a THCR review from Tim Hudspeth from 2002 .. https://web.archive.org/web/20131106...ad.php?t=21813 and here's a ride report I made from 2012... https://web.archive.org/web/20120504...ad.php?t=39310

Yea.. weird, huh? It's not easy finding specific information, but if you are determined, there is a lot of information still there...Full details on how to get there in this newsletter... http://www.pirateslair.net/newsletterDec20.htm Just scroll down to the article called "Echoes In Eternity"....

Before I forget... Obviously this invitation goes out to the Kaleefornia deplorables .. Kneedragger, Victory, etc... I know for a fact that riding 3000 miles for a burger isn't the stupidest thing any of you have ever done...Just sayin... Just check with us a week or so in advance to make sure every thing is copasetic on our end...October is a way's off.. Anything could happen between now and then in these crazy times..

I tried, but I keep getting errors. Was trying to recover my write-ups here:

Makes me want an MV Agusta. Not that that's a bad thing.
