While taking a water and ice cream break on the way to Markleeville we petted a dog named Smokey. He wasn't impressed with us at all.

After checking in at Creekside Lodge and dining at the Cutthroat Tavern we saw this group of vintage bikes marking their well deserved spot.

Right down the road and around a really really blind curve we found this and Susan didn't get hit by a truck or RV.

Weaverville is proud of its mining history. Don took us on an interesting tour of the museum displays. This is part of a water wheel used to crush oar. Does it look like I'm wearing a straight jacket to you?

Crockett's Up North in Weaverville had really good food and stuff. Susan had her first taste of Huckleberry anything. That's the second pic.

Just north of Weaverville on Cecilville / Forks of Salmon road we were halfway into 170 miles of nothing but curves. Really, 170 miles of fresh clean curves and beautiful scenery!

The Lost Coast Highway in Northern California. Pictures don't do it justice.

Then came the green "Go" light followed by the dump truck headed our way on a one lane followed by the construction guy frantically motioning us to stop. Whatever.

While breakfasting at the Eel River Cafe we met two guys on a 'Busa and Multistrada. We had originally seen them 150 miles and a day earlier at the Eel River Brewery. We jawed for a while. The 'Busa guy's chiropractor now lives in Asheville NC. We saw them later on CA1 near Fort Bragg. Big farewell waves and we never saw them again.

Beautiful view, and the ocean's not bad either.

Glass Beach CA. This was once a trash dump. The waves had smoothed the glass over time.

Port Arena lighthouse was closed the day we were there. They also have lodging.

Wildfire smoke on Sonora Pass. It doesn't look it but that was a steep incline.

We were detoured off of US160 north of Kayenta AZ due to flash flooding a few hours earlier. The detour was beautiful and fun.

It was a fun and twisty 21 days and 7046 miles. A big THANKS to Charlie for setting up SGR this year. You knocked it out of the park! We hope we can do this again next year.

        Speed safe!
