Victory Bell Memorial Sierra Gold Rush Rally

For the 19th consecutive year we will again be celebrating SGR, which will henceforth be known as the Victory Bell Memorial Sierra Gold Rush Rally. Vic was the only one of us to attend every SGR, beginning in 2008! Vic was a tough and determined man, attending last year's SGR just weeks before his death from cancer. He was a friend to everyone he met, and his memory will live on.

This year, we'll be heading back to one of our favorite places, the Creekside Lodge in Markleeville, CA. As always, we'll be arriving after Labor Day, spending Sept. 8th, 9th, and 10th at the Creekside Lodge.

Tell Todd you're with the BMW motorcycle group.

On Sept. 11th, we'll be riding to Weaverville, CA, Staying Sept. 11th and 12th at the 49'er Gold Country Inn. Weaverville is in the area known as the Trinity Alps, and there is some great riding in the area.

Lodging is limited, especially in Markleeville, so if you plan to attend you should make reservation ASAP!

Thanks Charlie. Reservations made online just now.

FYI for anyone travelling to Weaverville, just south is CA highway 36. We traveled 36 and CA hwy 3 in 2024. They are fantastic! roads.

Beech and I are discussing riding down to see everyone on September 11th and 12th at Weaverville. Hey, man, we're getting older. No more back-to-back 600 mile days. We're thinking two days down from Pugetropolis, two days back. The roads down there are good. Full of Sasquatch, throwing rocks, causing mischief.

Well it has been awhile. I agree with the JJ thread that things are slowing down. We are aging out. The K bikes... The WA state club president was over for tires a couple of days ago and did not even know what a K13OOS bike was. Says a lot. I hope many of the folks that go to Markleeville will continue to Weaverville. Looking forward to it. Beech Thinking about using the original K13S which has about 145,000 miles on it. As many have said, we are getting older and ride fewer miles.

Beech, I ended my last sentence in California through the early release program. However, I don't have to wear an ankle monitor and am toying with the idea of making SGR. We'll see how BRPR goes in June.
