    Official THCR 2020

For those that want to join in the fun, the 2020 THCR is on!

    When: Arrive 4/15, Depart 4/19
    Where: Bandera, TX
    Location: The River Front Motel
    Contact: Mary Jane (830) 328-5110

There was a limited number of cabins left because some a-hole reserved most of them, so I'm on a waiting list for a cancellation. I've asked Mary Jane to put me down for any/all cabins that become available & she will contact me.

Hope to see some of you there.

Yep, middle of the road, no herd. I chased it for about 1/4 mile through the woods before catching it, then it got a ride on a K1200S to the nearest ranch house.

We got the last 4 night cabin. We're arriving Tuesday (for Chicken Earls !!) and leaving Saturday morning. 1265 miles home is best done over 2 days.

Lee, I don't know. We booked online last night, Arrive Tue 4/14 and leave Sat morning 4/18.
We also looked at Terlingua but it has become a 200+ per night "trendy" place now.

$200 for Terlingua is a bit much.

No shit! The Eldorado was $180 + tax a night! The Motor Inn is $146/night but the Chisos Mining Co. (Easter Egg) is still $99/night. The guy at Chisos was slamming all his competition for raising their rates when I spoke to him. He said, "we may not be trendy but we're the cheapest in town". When we stayed there in '17 they had done some remodeling. So we're gonna do the Outback in Sanderson, the Antelope Lodge in Alpine & the Chisos Mining Co. in Terlingua then head to Bandera.

My reservation is for 4/15-4/18. Some dude has 5 cabins "on hold" beginning 4/18 I believe which is why I couldn't get a night on the 18th. I'll call back down there & talk with Mary Jane again and advise.

      Curt,

Thanks for taking the lead in this. I dropped the ball after I was notified that I'm getting mobilized from the Navy reserves back to active duty for 11 months from April 6th 2020 - February 2021. Maybe I'll see y'all at THCR 2021.

Any news on the cabins? There doesn't seem to be much interest but maybe it's date confusion ???

I think the cabin situation is still pretty much the same at this point. Not sure about overall interest though it seems to have fizzled out. Gary, Steve, Tim & I plan to be in Bandera with "bells on our fingers & rings on our toes".

McFly, I don't know about this interest is "fizzling" stuff. I have never had definite plans set so far ahead of time. Once I say I'm in, there's not much more to say except "HELL YEAH! LET'S ROCK AND ROLL!" It's not like going to the AHR where we have to plan out firewood, get fly paper strips, romance Mrs. Gordon, lay in a supply of liquor in a dry county, bring flying monkeys, barter some blankets for the women, and arrange for Lee to bring his Carbon Monoxide detectors. I don't even know where I'm staying yet, and I don't care. Maybe that's just me.

            So, see? I'm interested.

Thanks, Tim! That's a great video. So many K-Bikes of all flavors. Riders were varied, too. Some of the main suspects appear repeatedly over the years, don't they?

McFly doesn't have the corona, but you may have a burning sensation during urination if you're not careful...
