Arrived at the hotel in Abingdon.... 16 hrs, a few coffees, lots of cool walks around parking lots
and a Five Hour Energy drink.
Unload tomorrow and do a local shakedown ride to get rid of the winter cobwebs.
My daughter reserved me a Yurt for tomorrow night at this place in Bristol called The Olde Farm.

620 State is a really good restaurant on State street in Bristol. Stateline Bar and Grill is pretty cool too.

Correction, it's Nicewonder Farm and Vineyard.
Rode Rt 58 for a long ways then turned back onto Shady Lane (?0 in Damascus to 421 back to Bristol.
      Tires are pretty scrubbed now.
Meet a nice young couple at the bar and think I talked him out of buying a motorcycle and going into
business for himself instead (delayed gratification).
      Getting the yurt experience now.

Those are fancy Yurts. I thought Yurts were wood frame covered by canvas.

Good to hear you and your Dad can make it.
Front brake caliper torque is 22 ft/lb 30 Nm

If you have the Rider's Manual double check it.
        Look under Maintenance and Tires.

Rider's Manual can be downloaded here.

Hell, I never really worry about torque specs on caliber bolts, or even the bolts themselves for that matter. Over-rated.

It is 22 ft/lbs. I just changed a tire and put the calipers back on today. My first tire change with spoons.

Steve's headed down to Big D to visit with his son & family with his new RR. Part of the trip down has always been to see his granddaughter play soccer & this year she's playing playoff soccer for a state championship. All before she heads off to Seton Hall on a full ride soccer scholarship. Good luck Emma!

On Monday, we'll hook up somewhere down south then head down to Gary's for some usual pre-rally debauchery & after that, we head down to Bandera on Wednesday. Hopefully, the Wild Horse Saloon will be ready for our visit!

I think we'll leave Saturday morning, but not very early because the low is supposed to be 25.
Depending on when we leave we'll stay at Carthage or Eureka Springs.
Sunday we'll run down 23 with a detour to go over Mt. Magazine.
Depending on the weather we'll stay in Mena, Ar. or Queen Wilhelmina Lodge.
Monday we'll angle over to Mineral Wells Tx. with a stop in Decatur to see the old gas station Curt mentioned.
Tuesday we'll cut over to Hwy 16 and take it to Bandera. Instead of taking 16 between Fredericksburg and Kerrville we might take the Grapetown or Lukenbach road and back through Comfort.
          Arriving in Bandera Tuesday.
I didn't make any reservations so we can be flexible and change our route if we need due to weather.

We're ready for some warm Texas weather. Yesterday was in the 30s with 40 to 50 mph winds with a little drizzle.
Same temps today with 30 to 40 mph winds and snow the last couple hours.
At least the snow is melting as it hits.

              Is next year the 20th?

We didn't go to the YO in Kerrville in 2003.
Our home for the week was Lady Bird Municipal Campground in Fredericksburg.

Leaving Birmingham, AL Saturday morning. Guess I'll ride
Rt 82 west. Don't want to take the highway and won't have
                time to wonder much.
                Any thoughts on this route?

                    That's so juvenile.

What did you get? Ball shooters? Did you get any ball shooters? Love ball shooters. We used to shoot them at each others balls.
