Currently shopping hard armor for ds riding leaning towards a Leatt 4.5 or air flex body protector

The 4.5 looks great and reasonably priced.

The Leatt C-Frame Pro Carbon Knee Braces also look great but are pricey.

We currently use Dainese knee and shin protectors under our textiles as the provided OEM armor is marginal. Very low cost for the Dainese.

Karl, you need the Leatt 5.5 pro HD. It has flank protection for rib injuries. Spend the few $ more.
For the knees and elbows, I have the Leatt 3DF sleeves/pads. You will not know its even on you.

Fractured ribs seem to be common along with a perforated lung.

Anyone make a combination of armor and airbag tech?

I noticed the Dainese doesn't have protection for the sides of the chest.

I have no idea how it looks or performs but there is a combination armor and air jacket from Wunderlich.

For what its worth, I tred on the Helite airbag vest while at the MOA.
It completely covers all the front vents of a Klim Jacket, hence not practical in summer. You will just end up leaving it at home. And it is quite restrictive.
