Here it is, a sunny Saturday in Pugetropolis in January. Cannot let this opportunity pass. Only been out on the bike three times since my right hip joint replacement on November 21, 2022, just for short rides around the Snoqualmie Valley. I needed something a bit further with more than just the standard traffic on Hwy 203 and West Snoqualmie Valley Road. Headed out at 10:00 and rode down to the Rustic Cabin coffee shop in Duvall. Some of the local scooter trash were there, so I joined them for a cuppa. That was good. Next I headed south down to see Wayne at SoSo Motorcycles in Fife. The traffic was really movin', like in the high 70s. No complaints here. Made it to SoSo and saw Wayne. Had another cup of coffee. Rode back home to my secret HQ in the Snoqualmie Valley.
All in all, a good ride. I can now use my right foot to hold the bike up at a stop as easily as my left foot. I can get it back on the foot peg very easily also. The RS fits me really well. I can throw my right leg over the bike without doing what I think of as the "ballet move" required by my former bike, a S1000XR, which was quite a bit taller than my RS. I am very happy right now, and looking forward to the rides we are planning for the '23 season.
