    Day tripping to Alpine, Arizona

My new home location in Show Low, Arizona is a great launch point for long rides into New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah, but there are also some excellent local day rides... one of my favorites is the ride to Alpine, climbing from 6300'+ at home to 9500' enroute...

US 191 between Alpine and Morenci is an epic motorcycle road... 90+ miles of continuous twists and turns through incredibly beautiful country. I've ridden it a couple of times, but not today...

Summer monsoon season is beginning in Arizona, but I made it home to Show Low with just a couple of sprinkles... it was a perfect 150-mile day ride...

Please do, Murray... I know you two have been doing a lot of traveling, but are you going to join us in Weaverville??

          Thanks for the pictures.
We've only been up to Alpine once on 191 and really liked the area.
It was 666 when we were on it.

Thanks for sharing those pics Charlie. This is exactly the kind of riding I hope to do when we move to Snow Creek. Can barely wait!

You know it Dan. I've lived in MO, IL, IN, NV, TX, and Germany (Bavaria). Illinois has treated me well enough in the past but it's certainly headed downhill at an exponential rate!
